Chris and Libby (now Mr. and Mrs. Cron) make one creative couple! Chris is in the band Melee and Libby is a creative artist herself. She is always taking photos and coming up with new DIY projects. Their wedding was filled with details mainly designed and carried out by the bride. Chris and Libby’s sincere love for one anther and creative and uniquely designed wedding made it one of my favorites of the year!
Libby ordered different pieces from many Etsy vendors and then designed and made her own plastic flower hairpieces for all of her bridesmaids. At the sign-in table they had a hand drawn thumbprint tree that was made by Libby and Chris’ brother in-law, Jony Bos. All of the guest were able to sign by the branches and thumbprint leaves. The couple framed this piece after the wedding and it now hangs in their home. Libby made the note tree herself where guest could write words of wisdom on the cards and then hang it from the tree. Libby also made the bird table placement cards that she hung from twine and colored clothes pins.
Another fun element that showcased Libby + Chris’ fun and playful personalities was the ring bearer. Libby surprised Chris with an actual bear, well one of his friends dressed head to toe in a bear costume! The groom and crowd were surprised and showed it bouts of laughter! Libby and I came up with some props to use for their romantic photo portraits. We decided to go with some old mustard crushed velvet chairs from the 40′s (which I purchased at the Salvation Army in Orange off of Tustin and Chapman) and a couple of vintage suitcases. They were married at The Mitten building which is an older brick building surrounded by amazing old and rustic buildings, a railroad track and a little downtown Redlands area. It gave us plenty of interesting areas to shoot at!
During the reception the groom’s brother and sister surprised Libby and Chris by singing Styx’s Mr. Roboto, accompanied by the bridal party covered in foil dancing the robot.
Libby (the bride) designed all the paper items herself (invites, programs, place cards, etc) but bought cardstock from Kelly’s Paper and Paper Source where she bought the paper to do the bird seating chart and Michael’s for paper flowers that she added to the place cards.
