Colorful Santa Barbara Wedding

From Lindsey (event designer and planner):
Miles and Erin were my fabulous clients from Illinois and unlike any clients I have ever had. From our first phone conversation I could tell they were going to let myself and my vendors plan an amazing event with a lot of artistic license. Surprisingly, very few clients give vendors a budget and tell them to run with it. I knew that Miles and Erin wanted something different and not cookie cutter, I also knew that this was going to be an intimate wedding (20 hand picked guests), but they didn’t want it to be super “wedding-y”. I set out putting together a dream team of vendors to create their magical day.
Nico of NLC Productions was one of my first calls. I knew when I told Nico that we were getting to design an event with very little client influence that he was going to be thrilled. I told Nico, “they trust me and I trust you… let’s give them the wedding of their dreams.” Nico did not disappoint, in fact I disappointed myself… I walked into Nico’s office and had a bit of a panic the day before the wedding… you see there were umbrellas everywhere and they were every color of the rainbow! As much as he assured me it would be fine, I was a bit scared. Fast forward to the wedding day, sunny, super hot and perfectly clear skies. We started loading in at The Rincon Beach Club and I couldn’t keep from gasping- everything was just as he said it would be. Colorful, tropical, gorgeous, fresh, fun, amazing- I cried. I delivered Erin’s bouquet and her daughter’s wand and cried again. It was perfect and the couple, they couldn’t have been happier and more grateful. It is days like this when you get to have your dream team by your side and full and total trust from your clients that you couldn’t wish for anything more.
Miles and Erin were married right before sunset under an arbor made of hand painted parasols. They toasted under string lights and instead of cake they made s’mores by the fire with their closest friends and family members.
From Erin (bride):
iles and I met when we least expected it. My sister, Ashleigh, was throwing a Halloween party and I happened to be there with my current boyfriend at the time, Dustin. Miles came to the party with one of Ashleigh’s friends, Ladd. I remember seeing Miles and Ladd sitting on the couch. I was wearing a shirt from “2one7 Skate Shop,” a local skateboarding shop. Miles asked me where I bought the shirt from, as it was an “Innes” shirt and he knows that most companies don’t sell that brand. I stated that I had boughten the shirt at “2one7 Skate Shop” and Miles then informed me that he was currently the manager at “2one7.” That was the only words that we had spoken throughout the entire night. After Miles left the party, I asked my sister’s friend, Emily, who was currently dating Ladd, all about Miles. Emily stated that Miles was currently dating a girl and in a band named “Park.” It never failed that I was always attracted to men in bands, especially drummers, as Miles was. It just so happened that Emily gave me Miles’ phone number, and little did I know, that Miles asked Ladd for my phone number as well. Emily informed me that they had a local show coming up and that I could go with her. Luckily, Dustin and I broke up, and I ended up going to the “Park” show with Emily. I was immediately drawn to him and I ended up calling Miles after the show. He came to my house the following day and it was history from there. Our relationship was not always easy. Miles’ band was on a label out in California, causing Miles to be on tour about ten months out of the year. I also happened to be a single mother. So many people came and went from our lives, but our love was constant. Miles proposed after our meeting five years prior.
Miles and I are very free-spirited, fun-loving people. We love vibrant colors, unique styles, and have a vision for the arts. After meeting with Nico Cervantes, our floral designer from NLC Productions, he was able to capture our vision after talking with us for just a couple short hours. We gave Nico the freedom to use his artistic abilities in a way that few couples have allowed him to do, and he delivered beautifully. Our make-up was done by “Luna Bella,” two lovely ladies from Santa Barbara that do on-site make-up and hair. We were introduced to them by our wedding planner, Lindsey Hartsough.
