Inspiration: We wanted to take the glamour and sophistication of a ballroom wedding and “marry” it with the fun and laidback feel of a backyard, family affair to create “Backyard Glam”.
Style: We aimed to create the “Backyard Glam” look by infusing very high glam elements such as the crystal, fine linens, phalaenopsis orchids, ghost chairs etc. with “homey” family elements such as the handcrafted flowers, homemade pies, and hand woven yarn strands and accents.
Venue: We chose a beautiful white home along the Intracoastal in Gulfstream, Florida. The private residence’s double lot allowed us the space to tell the entire story from the “getting ready” to the “first look” to the “first dance” and everything in-between. We wanted to inspire South Florida Brides to search out unique wedding locations knowing that they can create a glamorous look outside of the ballroom.
Ceremony & Photo Booth: We chose a lush green hedge along the property for our altar and adorned it with sweet and unique handcrafted paper flowers along with a matching “I DO”. We were fortunate to have a handsome little Ring Bearer and Flower Girl to boot. The Ceremony altar was then embellished with hundreds of hand woven yarn strands to create a fun loving Photo Booth backdrop. We think it’s great when you can repurpose items and have them pop up later in an event and it’s always meaningful to watch guests have a blast at a photo booth with the altar piece as the backdrop.
Table: The design of the table was truly inspired by the “white vintage lace” linen by Nuage Designs. This linen has been available for sometime now yet we hadn’t had a chance to incorporate it into any of our designs and we had been dying to do so! The layering of the linens led to the intricate details of the ribbon-draped corners and crystal brooches, while the stunning floral design by Xquisite Events was really just the icing on the cake. The place cards created by Salutations of Boca Raton were wrapped around the individual pies at each place setting to complete the look.
Pie Bar: Candy, cupcakes and now pie. We believe that a pie is a universal symbol for homemade, yummy goodness and the pie-pops are just downright fun! The table was covered with a beautiful silver rosette linen and placed beneath a Banyan tree dripping in crystal strands to achieve the glam look we were going for.
This shoot was truly a dream come true. We had so much fun partnering up some of the finest vendors South Florida has to offer. From the paper cuts due to crafting the paper flowers to the breathtaking white rose covered letters, we hope to enthuse Brides to get with their family and friends to create their own personal touches and sprinkle them throughout their lavish and glamorous wedding decor.
